A Message from Deacon Ruth Krueger

A Message from Deacon Ruth Krueger

Dear friends,

As I finish my work at Good Sam, my heart is full, and I have so much I want to say to you. Let me start by saying that I care deeply for all of you. You have made me feel welcome from the first day I stepped into the doors of the church over nine years ago, to the day I began my job as your Minister for Parish Life and Campus Ministry Chaplain, and on my path to the deaconate and, finally, as I have prepared to say goodbye. We have worshiped together in the singing of hymns and the prayers and the sharing of the Eucharist. We have grown together through seasons of change. We have laughed together through times of fun and celebration. We have been like family, and I will always look back with fond memories.

I look forward to the work that lies ahead of me. It is different for me to be serving in the world again, and an honor to live into the calling of helping people in their time of need, of seeking and serving Christ in all people as a part of my career. I am confident and grateful that my employment is my calling. At the same time, I will continue to experience the joy of serving in the liturgy and Eucharist on Sunday mornings. The deacon gets the best of both worlds, and I love that!

When I think of Good Samaritan Church and its future, I am filled with hope. I believe that the path before you is a bright path, lit with the purposes of God and led by the vision and compassion of a new rector and each other. There is good in store for you, and I will watch with joy from a distance as it unfolds.

Know that I love each of you, that I will pray for you, and that I hold you in my heart. You are a part of me, and that will never change!

Yours faithfully in Christ’s love,
Ruth
