Welcome Zachary Duell

Welcome Zachary Duell

The New Director of Music at Good Sam

An organist and choral conductor, Zachary trained on both coasts before joining the staff at Good Sam this summer

Oregon native Zachary Duell holds degrees in organ performance from the Eastman School of Music (M.Mus.) and Willamette University (B.Mus.), where he studied with Nathan Laube and Paul Klemme, respectively.

In addition to his organ studies at Willamette, Zachary studied choral conducting with Wallace Long, Jr., and sang in the Willamette Chamber Choir and the nationally acclaimed Willamette Singers vocal jazz ensemble. He has been admitted to numerous conferences and organ academies, has played in masterclasses for renowned international organists including Paul Jacobs and Michel Bouvard, and is a recipient of the 2020 E. Power Biggs Fellowship of the Organ Historical Society.

An enthusiastic church musician from a young age, Zachary has served churches of many denominations over the last decade. Outside of the practice room and the church, Zachary enjoys spending his free time taking in the country’s striking natural beauty and cooking for his family and friends.

Zachary’s first Sunday in the organ loft will be June 27th, 2021. Welcome!
