In celebration of Black History Month, the Spiritual Nurture Committee will show the documentary Backs Against the Wall: The Howard Thurman Story.

This film explores the extraordinary life of Howard Thurman: a minister, teacher, poet, and proponent of the non-violent struggle for social change. He’s been called the “patron saint” of the Civil Rights Movement. He’s known for his preaching, mentoring, and creative ways of “doing church.”
