Sundays@3 Concert: Oregon Koto Kai

Based in Portland, Oregon, Oregon Koto Kai is an ensemble of Japanese koto players – a traditional Japanese stringed instrument, in the same family of instruments as the dulcimer.
Founded by Japanese koto master Mitsuki Dazai in 2012, Oregon Koto Kai now consists of over 20 members and performs regularly across the Pacific Northwest, blending traditional and modern sounds of the koto. This concert will feature traditional Japanese classical and sacred music, played by an ensemble of 5 koto players led by founder Mitsuki Dazai. A rare opportunity to hear this unique instrument, a reception will follow with a chance to see a koto up close and ask questions about the instrument.
