Sundays@3 Concert: Advent Lessons & Carols

December 1 at 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Four lit candles in a wreath
The Good Samaritan Sanctuary Choir, Orchestra, and Soloists present Johann Sebastian Bach’s masterful Cantata No. 36 Schwingt freudig euch empor (Soar joyfully upward) for the First Sunday of Advent.

Accompanied by joyfully expectant readings for the season before Christmas, and additional choral works by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Boris Ord, and Paul Manz, this exciting concert will include opportunities for the audience to sing along to Advent carols. Don’t miss the rare opportunity to hear a complete, live performance of a cantata of the great Johann Sebastian Bach right here in Corvallis!

Director: Zachary Duell
Concertmaster: Lisa Zweben
Soloists: Steven Evans-Renteria, tenor; Simon Staples, baritone; Amy Hansen, soprano.

This event is part of our Sundays@3 concert series, which has been bringing a wide variety of high-quality music to Corvallis since 1997. Free to attend.
