The good Samaritan in the parable of Jesus extended radical hospitality to his neighbor. This hospitality is our mission at Good Sam, and our ushers are right at the heart of it.
Ushers say hello and hand out bulletins. They notice newcomers, help them feel at home, and give them welcome bags of baked bread and helpful info. When visitors are on their way out, ushers invite them to stay for coffee, tea and snacks. They’re the reason the doors are open, the lights are on, and the room is comfortable when we arrive. They look out for people’s needs. They express an amazing amount of care.
Do you want to join in this ministry of hospitality? Choose which service suits you best (below), and let us know. We’ll give you a training, confirm your availability, and set you up to shadow someone experienced until you feel good ushering on your own.
